A Place You’ll Want to Visit Again and Again

I always use this place for meetings. I believe there are cafes that satisfy you after one visit, and then there are cafes you want to return to again and again, and Polka Dot is definitely the latter!

The atmosphere, the food, the cleanliness, and the service are all top-notch. I always end up ordering the plate lunch, even though there are so many tempting options. Everything is delicious!

The only downside is that when you add drinks and desserts, the total can exceed 2,000 yen, which can be a bit tough on the wallet, but the satisfaction makes it totally worth it. Unlike many trendy cafes that are just expensive, Polka Dot stands out as truly wonderful. Plus, the fact that parking is never a hassle is another big plus!

A Place to Enjoy a Relaxed Meal

I visited around 6:00 PM for an early dinner. Perhaps because it was a weekday evening, there was only one other group, so I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal.

I ordered the Turkish rice and the demi-omelette hayashi rice. Both came with a generous salad. The omelette rice was a perfect size for women, while the Turkish rice was filling enough to satisfy even men. The menu is full of unique dishes you wouldn’t typically find in a retro-style cafe, so I always find myself debating what to order.

Despite the bold flavors, the dishes are surprisingly light, which I think is due to not just the seasoning but also the rich broth that’s used.

For dessert, I had a chocolate brownie, a chocolate banana parfait, and coffee. The coffee had a rich depth to it, and it paired wonderfully with the sweets.

Lovely Atmosphere

I stopped by for lunch while passing through Kashihara Jingu-mae Station. I ordered hot coffee, a polka dot plate, and coffee-flavored yokan (sweet jelly).

The cafe has stylish chairs and slightly low tables. The atmosphere is great, with pleasant Western music playing in the background, which I really enjoyed.

The coffee had a mild acidity with just a touch of bitterness, which I liked. The plate was on the sweeter side and very tasty. The yokan came with a sprinkle of rock salt on the plate, and when eaten together with the coffee, it paired wonderfully.

I’d love to visit again the next time I’m in the area. Thank you for the great experience!
